In HIM (Christ) let us continuously offer up the sacrifice of PRAISE by the fruit of our lips giving Thanks in His Name.
Now to take this literally sounds impossible! My circumstances are too grim. In the reality of my heart I cannot, I simply cannot Praise, or Give Thanks. For example.... (I am facing the death of loved ones the loss of a business, disaster either natural or unexpected. A health procedure lies in front of me. Praise and thanksgiving cannot seem to make any sense.....I will simply trust that God is with me.).
Continuous praise is many times mentioned in the psalms. Psalm 6 is one example.
By you I have been upheld from my birth. You are HE who took me out of my mother's womb. My Praise shall be continually of YOU..
This is a wonderful example of a Psalm of Praise but often hard to appropriate or remember in a time of crisis and often hard to make REAL in the circumstances.
I share with you two statement of Faith which are in the nature of Praise and Thanksgiving. When stored in your heart they can rise like a 'bubble of HOPE' when times are difficult.
I AM REDEEMED BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB. I AM REDEEMED AND I KNOW I AM.
2. THIS EARTH IS NOT MY FINAL HOME.
Both of these are truths and also songs. I am sharing because this past week I found my whole attitude to what was occurring around me changed when I simply - in my heart
allowed 1. to rise in my heart. Suddenly God was present in my thinking and I truly felt like I was praising.
Number 2 I actually spoke out to a nurse who asked me why I smiled. She nodded and said, 'Wow. This is true.'.
